She was raised in the Luzerne, NY area by a family who had a country band. Later she started writing lyrics as a young girl and was given a guitar by her father at the age of ten when he noticed how her music talent was starting to develope. It didn't take her long to learn to play and add music to the lyrics she wrote. A little while later, maybe a year or so, she started traveling and playing along with her family at bluegrass festivals. Later in life she played in a country band and a country rock band. At one point and time she moved to Tenessee for about three years to explore all things musical and country. Realizing how the heart of Tenessee was a large city instead of a span of open country with fields, farms and country life Heather missed home and moved back upstate and has been home ever since. Leaving the area, experiencing various musical opportunities Heather's music style has developed into something of a home grown feel. Heather brings a mix of country, folk, bluegrass into what can be described as good earth based Americana. Whether you're looking for toe tapping, sing along songs that reflect on the pure enjoyment of life itself through admiration of nature and landscape or sensual sounds of moments that only two can remember while sharing with a special someone... Heather has a little bit of it all on her new cd entitled, Sweet as a Morning Ride. You can hear music samples from her website at HeatherRichards.com
Thanks Heather!
